GRACE KELLY: FASHION ICON

Ask many ladies ‘of a certain age’ who Grace Kelly / Princess Grace Of Monaco was and the majority of women will mention her fairytale life story but more importantly the fact that she was an incredible fashion icon.
Grace Kelly like Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana were all style icons, all tragically taken from us too young.
Monroe, an actress, and Diana, a Princess, have their place in history, but Grace as both a movie star and a Princess was incredibly influential not only for her official duties but as a style and fashion icon, a trait which is evident in the Duchess Of Cambridge, who is causing a similar ripple through fashion.  The undefinable “je ne sais quoi” of Princess Grace will become evident to a whole new generation with the soon to be released Nicole Kidman film about the life of Princess Grace Of Monaco.

The movie is released in the UK on 6 June 2014, but it receives its first public outing at the opening of the Cannes Film Festival in May.
As an actress she attained stardom with the 1953 film ‘Mogambo’ starring opposite Clark Gable, a role that would earn her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Alfred Hitchcock championed her rise to superstardom with three productions, ‘Dial M For Murder’, ‘Rear Window’ and ‘To Catch A Thief’. But it was her impeccable beauty, personality and fashion sense both on screen and off that captured the hearts of movie goers and made her one of the most photographed women of the 20th century.
