The dust has now settled from the Oscars 2014 and once again the spotlight drifted towards Angels as the Oscar for Best Achievement in Costume Design went to Catherine Martin for her incredible work on The Great Gatsby.
The Great Gatsby takes our tally for Costume Oscar productions to 35. The first Oscar was for Hamlet back in 1948, other winning titles include Star Wars (1977), Chariots Of Fire (1981) and Shakespeare In Love (1988) and Anna Karenina (2013). It is not the first time that Angels has been delighted with The Great Gatsby winning the Oscar, we supplied costumes for the original Hollywood production 40 years ago (1974), at that time designed by Theoni V Aldredge.
